General Submissions
All manuscripts submitted for consideration of publication must be the own work of, or the licensed work of, the submitter. Work submitted under license must be accompanied by documentary evidence of the current license. At Býleistr Books, we take our duty to protect authors against plagiarism seriously. Any work we find to have been submitted to us without the express license and permission of the copyright owner will be rejected immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities.
All solicited manuscripts must be written predominately in English. Prose and poetry written in other languages should be limited to no more than 10% of submitted work.
Manuscripts for general solicitation or the Annual Writing Bee may be submitted only in digital format.
Digital Submissions – Either of three file types are acceptable: .doc, .docx, .odt. Fonts used must be legible, English language fonts, and commonly available. Fonts must be fully embedded in the document and must be open source or accompanied by the license. If we accept a submission for publication, fonts which Býleistr Books does not have license to use for commercial purposes will be replaced with the best equivalent of fonts licensed to Býleistr Books or open source fonts.

Býleistr Books is currently accepting manuscripts in three categories:
- Short Stories (2,000-20,000 words)
- Novellas – (20,000-49,999 words)
- Novels (50,000 to 200,000 words)
Býleistr Books is not accepting submissions of picture/artwork books, works with explicit sexual content or any work of a defamatory nature targeting any group or person, whether or not said group or person is protected by U.S. law.
Author Services Submissions
Submissions for Author Services are limited to digital submission as described in the General Submissions guidelines listed above.
No payment is necessary for submission to Author Services. Our editing department will provide the free assessment to all submissions. Those authors Býleistr Books accepts for Author Services will also receive a sample of editing and format work on their submission that will allow them to make a decision on the level of service they may need. If the Basic Service level is chosen, a remittance can be made at that time. For the Pro and Premiere service levels, payment for the services will be deducted from the royalties of the published work. After the level is paid in full, the author will earn 90% of all royalties on the Býleistr Books editions of the work until the author wishes to discontinue all Býleistr Books editions. The author always retains copyright of their original work.
